Years ago, I left the care of my 5 month old son for just a couple hours in the care of my 20-something brother who had really never taken care of a baby, but he was a devoted uncle and super excited to do it. I left instructions for feeding, naps, etc. The only mishap was that I neglected to tell him about changing the diaper...(I thought that was common sense...guess not).
